Quinta do Lago combines the unique beauty and atmosphere of Southern Portugal with the sophistication of one of Europe's most exclusive resorts. Quinta do Lago is a luxurious development located in 2,000 acres of pine wood, it is one of the lowest density developments in Southern Europe and since much of the estate is crossed by the Ria Formosa nature reserve and bird sanctuary, it will remain unspoilt.
The policy is that only a small part of the estate will ever be built on, leaving the rest to the superb golf courses, aromatic woodland, tranquil lakes, lush greenery and wild birds.
Quinta do Lago is a golfer’s paradise, with top class golf courses in idyllic surroundings. The 27 hole championship course, designed by W. J. Mitchell, was judged by the “Courvosier Book of the Best to be” one of the world’s top three courses, it has been home to the Portuguese open on numerous occasions. A further 9 holes have been added to this making 36 in all. There is also a new 18 hole championship course, designed by the top American golf architect Joseph Lee, which is breath taking beautiful and a very challenging course. Even the Driving Range at Quinta do Lago is exceptionally attractive being a natural range set amongst pine trees. There are bar and restaurant facilities as well as shops at the Golf Club and Driving Range.
Pinheiros Altos is an 18 hole course designed by American Ronald Fream. The front nine is a normal Algarvian course and the back nine is similar to a links course with water.
The Quinta and Buganvilla Shopping Centres have many shops and restaurants including a supermarket, a bank, various boutiques etc. Everything you need for your holiday in one spot.
Quinta do Lago is a golfer’s paradise but there are also facilities for many other sporting activities. Tennis at the Jim Stewart Tennis Centre; Horse riding at Pine Trees Riding Centre; and many water sports are also available on the wind surfing lake or from the beach itself.
Beach bars and restaurants are all nearby for easy access.

There are two 18 hole golf courses, the Ocean course and the Royal course. At Vale do Lobo there are many facilities to keep the golfing enthusiast happy, including the Club House, and the Golf Shop with goods available for either purchase or hire and a 29 bay, two tier Driving Range.
The Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy has a resident team of professionals on call to coach all standards of player on the 12 all weather courts, 6 of which are floodlit.
There are restaurants and bars nearby as well as a night-club, a supermarket, boutiques and a bank. In fact everything you need for an enjoyable holiday can be found within the Vale do Lobo resort.
